Citroën has announced the first information about its upcoming redesigned C4 that will be debuting at the Paris Motor Show this fall. The 170.5-inch-long C4 competes against the likes of the Ford Focus, Opel Astra and Volkswagen Golf. The five-door hatchback that is being shown now will surely be joined by other body styles including a three-door and probably a tall wagon/MPV.
Like its siblings from PSA sister brand Peugeot, the C4 will feature a range of gas and diesel engines. The HDi diesels are equipped with automatic start-stop systems that let the C4 get down to as low as 109 grams of CO2 emitted per kilometer. Citroën hasn’t announced the car’s weight but has worked to keep it under control with laser welding and high-strength steels. The C4 also contains significant amounts of recycled materials, including interior plastics.
